Parkinson’s and the Britt Land Family
On May 6th, the lunch hour was cold, grey and windy but that didn’t stop the people of Britt Land Services from their mission: Spread the word on Parkinson’s.
What is Parkinson’s?
Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease. Movement is normally controlled by dopamine, a chemical that carries signals between the nerves in the brain. When cells that normally produce dopamine die, the symptoms of Parkinson’s appear.
There is no standard test to conclusively show if a person has Parkinson’s and because of this, it can be difficult to diagnose.
There is currently no cure for Parkinson’s.
Why Does Britt Land Want to Spread the Word on Parkinson’s?
Our founder and CEO, Ray Ramsay, has Parkinson’s. Ray will be undergoing a unique neurosurgical procedure next week, proven to be provide therapeutic benefits for Parkinson’s disease.
At Britt Land we are family. We help each other when things get tough. We are there to lend each other a hand and we completed this walk to show Ray and the entire Ramsay family our support.
