The Third C - Compliance

Do you get a knot in your stomach when you hear there are new regulatory guidelines for project applications? Remember when Alberta’s Aboriginal Consultation Office released new guidelines in July of 2016 for the Record of Consultation Logs, and everyone’s first reaction was, “Ah! What does this mean!?” Well, it turned out that update included a significant amount of increased work in preparing PDF files to support consultation logs. It’s these kind of changes to consultation reporting that drives stakeholder engagement best practice. We like to call staying on top of these types of changes and measuring them against what other regulators in the energy industry are requesting, compliance benchmarking.
